I have worked in the field of education for over 25 years, with the first part of my career as a teacher working primarily with special needs children. A good deal of that time was spent teaching students with behavioural and learning challenges. For the past 12 years I have worked as a psychologist with St. Albert Public Schools, both as a school counsellor and a consultant with our Inclusive Learning Team. I also work in private practice doing assessments and consultation.
I believe all children can succeed in the right environment with the proper interventions. Sometimes it is a challenge to figure out what works and what motivates a child. Part of that process involves working with parents, teachers and the child to come up with solutions. Through assessment and consultation we can work together to support your child and see him or her become more successful and confident.
I am able to administer psychological tests and provide appropriate recommendations and interventions for your child. These are done in an ethical manner with standardized testing material. I can also provide support to parents in regards to managing difficult behaviours, often associated with children who have ADHD, ODD, Autism, Anxiety, Depression or other mental health challenges.
